Making history the hard way

Trump makes history by selecting the first Secretary of State to have criticized his future boss for the size of his penis pic.twitter.com/hDPyuhda5a

I was prepared to be horrified by President-Elect Trump's Cabinet picks, but I wasn't expecting to be surprised. Marco Rubio repeatedly attacked Trump during the 2016 campaign. Trump is infamous for his ability to hold a grudge, so I expected that Rubio would be frozen out of the high-level appointment process, just as he was for the VP pick.
Though Rubio and I don't agree on much, at least until his MAGA conversion he held pretty straightforward conservative Republican foreign policy views. His selection isn't entirely unwelcome, especially compared with the alternatives. Some others have said the same thing. Dare we hope that he'll provide a counterweight to the non-interventionist majority in Trump's coalition?
